Overview

Search South Korean businesses and places (restaurants, cafes, shops, services) by keyword through the official Naver Search API local search, getting each place's name, category, addresses and WGS84 coordinates. Answers at most 5 places per search with no paging and no place details such as hours, phone or reviews; for richer place pages use the Naver Map or Kakao Map providers, which read different sources.

MethodAPIPathSummary
POST/v1/naver-local/find-placeLooks up the single best Naver local search match for a business or place name in South Korea, optionally narrowed by an area. Use when a user names a specific shop, restaurant or venue and needs its address, category or map coordinates. Do NOT use to browse options (use search-places) or for hours, phone numbers or reviews, which this official Naver Search API endpoint does not provide. Returns the top match with name, category path, description, website, lot-number and road addresses and WGS84 coordinates; NO_DATA when nothing matches. The top match can be a business inside a landmark rather than the landmark itself, so check the name.
POST/v1/naver-local/search-placesSearches the official Naver Search API local index for businesses and places in South Korea matching a keyword, optionally prefixed by an area (station, neighbourhood, district) and ordered by relevance or by Naver cafe/blog review count. Use when a user wants a short list of candidate restaurants, cafes, shops or services for a keyword. Do NOT use for opening hours, phone numbers, reviews or more than five results; this upstream has none of those (the Naver Map and Kakao Map providers cover richer place data). Returns up to 5 places with name, category path, description, website, lot-number and road addresses and WGS84 longitude/latitude, plus the search text that was sent; an empty list means nothing matched.
